Miniature aerospace compressor at NDI National Conference

VERT Rotors demonstrates the smallest rotary oil-free compressor at NDI National Conference.

VERT Rotors designs and manufactures ultra-compact low-vibration compressors with high pressure ratio designed for aerospace. At NDI National Conference the company will demonstrate its new development in the area of low-vibration compressors for aerospace.

Defence industry trade body, NDI, holds its annual National Conference on the 5th and 6th November at the renowned Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC) in Rotherham. The conference will be focused on the commercial opportunities emerging from the Defence Growth Partnership and Aerospace Growth Partnership.

Vert Rotors UK will demonstrate its smallest ‘nano’ oil-free rotary compressor VERT.04. That’s a direct-driven, miniature low-vibration compressor, available in two configurations: for air (3:1 pressure ratio) and for refrigeration (5:1 pressure ratio). It supplies 3 bar(g) pressure for compressed air applications.

VERT.04.H is a miniature refrigeration compressor designed for delicate applications such as optics where vibration is not acceptable. 100% rotary operation ensures minimal vibrations. Unlike other miniature rotary systems, the CRC produces reasonable flow rates at shaft speeds of 2,000 – 6,000 r/min and can be easily coupled with standard off-the-shelf DC motors.

At Annual Nation Conference NDI has lined up a range of heavyweight speakers to take part, providing SMEs with an  opportunity to hear from key government and industry leaders about issues around the growth partnerships, what this means for UK business, and where opportunities are to be found. These include: Philip Dunne, Minister of State for Defence Procurement, Sir Brian Burridge, Senior Vice-President UK Corporate, Finmeccanica, Dr Simon Cholerton, Operations Director, UKTI Defence and Security Organisation and David Pitchforth, Vice President & Managing Director, Boeing Defence UK.

VERT Rotors will run demonstrations of VERT.04.H at the exhibition lounge of the Conference.
